In response to the request from the various Trade Associations, the President of MAICCI wrote a letter to the Right Hon. Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Mohd. Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak in March 2010 highlighting on the plights of Indian Businesses and request that the government assists them to legalise the illegal foreign labours presently under their employ.


A preliminary meeting with the Indian Trade Associations was called on the 7th April 2010 to collate all information of illegal foreign labours employed by various Indian Businesses. It was followed with two other subsequent meetings held on 7th May 2010  and 31st May 2010.
