We are pleased to inform you that representatives of the  Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI) will be meeting YB Dato' Ir. Mohd Zin bin Mohamed, Minister of Works on Friday, 2nd May 2008.

The objective of this meeting is to exchange views and discuss matters pertaining to government contracts, amongst others, particularly the following issues:

(i) to help the ethnic Indian Malaysian contractors secure a minimum 10% of all the contracts awarded by the Ministry of Works or the Ministry's linked entities;

(ii) to allocate consultancy jobs to professional ethnic Indian Malaysians, such as Engineers, Architects, Chartered Land Surveyors etc;

(iii) to appoint ethnic Indian Malaysian representatives from the Chambers on the Board of Directors of Government owned & linked companies (GLCs) linked to the Ministry of Works e.g. CIDB, PLUS, HIGHWAY AUTHORITIES of MALAYSIA etc.

This meeting is another initiative by MAICCI to establish and foster direct dialogues and relationship with the various Government Ministries, Agencies and departments for the benefit and betterment of our community.
