The representatives of the Malaysian Associated Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MAICCI) will be having a meeting with the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of the Prime Minister's Department on the 23rd April 2008 at Putrajaya.

The objective of this meeting is to exchange views and discuss matters pertaining to the economic enhancement of our community,amongst others, particularly the following issues:

(i) the mechanisms and affirmative action plans to help the Indian community to attain the targeted (3%) three percent equity share;

(ii) business permits, licenses, vendor programs and contracts to be allocated to Indian Businessman and entrepreneurs;

(iii) special land schemes and agricultural schemes for the Indian farmers and the Indians from rural areas;

(iv) Appointment of ethnic Indian Malaysian on the Board of Directors of Government owned and Government linked companies (GLCs) etc.

This meeting is another initiative by the MAICCI to establish and foster direct dialogues and relationships with the various Government Agencies, departments and the Indian based business NGO's.
